an ode to my benefactor

should i start with a bit about me? i dunno. today i'm bored and have thus committed myself to maintaining a blog. i dunno how long this will last, plants die easily on me and this blog will require a wee bit more attention. but on my lonely and desparate job hunt in london, i guess i have a fair amount of time to dedicate to seiving my impressions of the world into this spot. a very own blogspotlight of my own *tadaaaaaaaa*.

so......anyway i just got to london a few days back from the bubble called university, MA degree all in hand. got a first as well. *thank you* but came here with a broken suitcase, broken heart, 2 mad friends to stay in the house of a madder one in soho, broke and jobless in one of the most expensive cities in the world. i deserve a pat on the back for sublime planning don't i? but it aint so bad, i'm living in my friend's living room in a house equipped with all kinds of fanciful modern luxuries, especially for a starry-eyed girl from delhi. now, for the average indian, nay average wordly-wise or property-price-wise homo sapien having rent free accomodation in soho is a dream come true. for me too, i guess. i have a nifty couch to crash on, tv cable-enabled *sounds good when u say it in your head no? cable-enabled tv, vah!*, a funky space-age kitchen, which helps since i love cooking. the kitchen makes me think this is the house the jetsons once lived in, oh how i wish i had rosie and astro for company though. only rosie. a maid. one of the few fanciful medieval luxuries every middle-class and above household in india can afford.

so that's that. aside from having every inch of my intelligence assaulted by british tv (the ads here are WAY worse than in NYC, which isn't saying much coz on an average the Yankees are pretty thick), i am furiously working away on an application to McKinsey, BCG, Save the Children, The World Bank (or Sell the Children) and whatever else is offering a decent salary to pay off my loans. if i don't pay off my loans soon, my family will disown me, this good hindu girl will find no husband for she has no dowry *i am aethiest frankly but temples are nice places to be at evening time, so once in 2 years you'll find me at one*, and of course those gorgeous prada shoes will be gracing the crow-feet of some plastic woman with butt-fat lips. someday i will be able to afford to be her. till then i'll keep writing, and job hunting in the vain of landing a book contract and a consulting job with the government of india. gender justice baby, that'll be my credo, just you wait mr. higgins till i wriggle my way into public policy. delhi will then be just the capital of india. not also the rape capital of india. i shall not avenge the many injustices, but eradicate them all.
*i have been reading the x-men: age of apocalypse series by the way, this might be a hangover from reading all 3 in a go*. besides the real scum in delhi, aside from the politicians and the hordes of crotch-scratching roadside romeos (men), are delhi's autodrivers and i guaruantee you a post on those escapades of mine. autos are three-wheelers. one of the main bastions of publ;ic transportation in indian cities. they're also manifest in thailand as tuktuks. but they're chartered by evil scum. autodrivers also known as choochiyas. since autos are also called chooches. and chootiyas are well, let's just it's not a very polite word. haha! semantically choochiyas i have already beaten you!

but i digress. this was meant to be an ode to my friend who has generously welcomed me into his space-age flat with cable-enabled tv living room. thank you muchacho, without friends like you i'd be homeless, jobless and loveless. thanks to you i am only the last two. mmmmmmmmmuah!

for someone who broke up 5 days ago, i sound delightfully cheery don't i? it's my phoenix heart. a thousand crash and burns baby, a million perhaps.
